HONEYCOMB BLINDS – originally  invented by Hunter Douglas

Honeycomb blinds get their name from the way they are made. When you look at them from the side, they look like a diamond shape, similar to what a beehive`s honeycomb cell looks like. This construction allows air to be trapped in between the layers and so it creates an air pocket that offers increased insulation. The more cells, the greater the energy efficiency.

DUETTES HONEYCOMB

Duette honeycomb blinds offer the best energy efficiency in the business. There are a number of options within the Duette category. Duette Architella blinds can reduce heat loss in the winter by up to 40% and they can reduce heat gain in the summer by 80%. Architella shades will filter unwanted ultraviolet rays that can damage furniture, floors and fabric.

Duette Honeycomb shades offer an extensive array of designs and operating systems. Ultraglide is a retractable cord that stays the same length as it opens and closes a blind. Cordless options include a Literise system that has a handle for easy operation, and also provides extra safety protection for children and pets. Powerrise systems employ wifi technology that has been designed by Hunter Douglas. This system is known as Power View and allows blinds to be operated remotely by remote control, and from mobile devices such as a smart phone or tablet.   Duettes can operate in the traditional bottom up manner, or with the top-down and bottom –up feature.
